Researchers have built a miniature human bladder with urine flowing through it, and the device has offered a concrete explanation for something millions of people experience as a personal failure: a urinary tract infection that comes back weeks after antibiotics supposedly cleared it.
The answer, in this laboratory model, is that some of the bacteria were never reachable in the first place.
