Unlike older games from the franchise that used military-style ranks, Battlefield 2042 keeps things much more straightforward. But the catch is that those strange-looking “S” ranks can still leave you a little confused when they first appear after you cross the 99th level.
Progression in BF2042 is built entirely around an XP-based leveling system. The more you contribute in matches, whether it’s capturing objectives, scoring eliminations, healing allies, or providing squad support, the faster you’ll climb through the ranks and unlock rewards along the way.
