YOU WONT BELIEVE: Aussie neil robertson goes down in masters epic - What They Never Told You

Australian snooker ace Neil Robertson has suffered an agonising defeat to Kyren Wilson to bow out of the Masters.

The left-hander was beaten 6-5 on Friday (Sat AEDT) in the quarter-finals after making a spirited comeback in one of the tournament's most gripping battles.

The Englishman made a fast start and jumped to a three-frame lead, including two century breaks, before going 4-1 up.

But instead of pushing on, the score lit the fuse for the 43-year-old Melbourne-born star.

In a comeback for the ages, Robertson posted breaks of 110 and 107 and won the next four frames to lead 5-4.

Wilson then hit a 111 break to level at 5-5, before clinching the final frame.

Wu Yize booked his spot in the semi-finals earlier with a 6-0 whitewash of Xiao Guodong.

Both players were competing in their first Triple Crown quarter-final event and Wu put on a dominant display, hitting a 112 in the opening frame and recording further breaks of 93, 60, 84 and 97.

Wilson will now meet Yize for a place in the final, while in the corresponding semi-final Englishman Judd Trump takes on Scotland's John Higgins.
