BBC Breakfast was stopped abruptly when a "protestor" interrupted a live segment from Salford Quays. Journalist Nina Warhurst was discussing food inflation during a live feed from an ice cream van.
She told viewers food prices had risen by 17.3% up to March of this year, reports Liverpool Echo. But before Nina, 42, could continue, a man appeared on the screen before then beginning to shout at her. Nina was unable to continue for a few seconds and then moved away from the man and carried on from another area nearby.
Hosts Sally Nugent and John Kay, who were back in the studio, moved quickly to reassure those watching at home. John said: "There is clearly a lot of demand for ice cream this morning", while Sally added: "Do you know what? Don't mess with our Nina".
