BHUBANESWAR: The Budget has come as a disappointment for the middle-class and the salaried struggling with salary cuts and job loss during the pandemic. With no tax concessions announced in the Budget, the middle-class is left to cope with price rise and increasing medical and education expenses.
“We had high hopes from this year’s Budget, but the finance minister was silent on individual taxpayers. Not changing the income tax slab is not at all a relief when every household is struggling to balance between income and expenditure amid Covid,” said Ranjit Kumar Lenka, an employee in a private firm.
