BEGUSARAI: Scanty rainfall in most districts in the state has triggered distress among farmers and a fear of drought. With rainfall deficiency in 31 of 38 districts standing at more than 20%, farmers are facing difficulties in cultivation of paddy, the main crop of kharif (monsoon) season in Bihar.
Scorching heat, on the other hand, has left chasms to appear in the already prepared fields meant for paddy cultivation.
