- Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi is set to receive an MBE from the Princess Royal at a Windsor Castle investiture ceremony for services to music and charity.
- The 78-year-old musician, dubbed the “Godfather of Heavy Metal”, co-founded Black Sabbath during the 1960s and went on to sell millions of records.
- Alongside his music career, Iommi has championed various humanitarian causes, including raising £53,000 for a new haematology and oncology centre at the Birmingham-based Heartlands Hospital Charity.
- Art curator Ekow Eshun will also receive an OBE in recognition of his services to the arts.
- Eshun chairs the Fourth Plinth Commissioning Group and served as the first Black director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
