THE TRUTH ABOUT: Body found in search for missing lanarkshire man - The Untold Story

Police have confirmed they have found a body in the search of a massing Lanarkshire man.

Matthew Cosgrove was reported missing from the Lanark area on Sunday, February 26, with police launching an urgent appeal to trace him.

Officers have now confirmed a body has been found in the search for Matthew in the Lesmahagow area on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that on Friday, March 3, a body was found in the Lesmahagow area by officers searching for missing man Matthew Cosgrove.

“Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of the missing 56-year-old who was reported missing on Sunday, February 26, have been made aware.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
