Borderlands 4 isn't quite a live service game, but its endgame does heavily revolve around a weekly schedule. This weekly update rotates endgame content, shifts the location of Maurice's Black Market vending machine, and is often when Gearbox reveals and releases key patch notes.
With this in mind, the weekly update is an important date to keep track of, whether you're just entering the endgame or perfecting your builds with a shopping list of gear. Below, I'll go over what's available this week and any major changes so you don't miss out.
Borderlands 4 weekly update

Each week in Borderlands 4, the Big Encore boss, Wildcard Mission, and Black Market vending machine activities change. Since these are endgame activities, you'll have to have completed the campaign before you can access them. These changes go live at the weekly reset time, which is every Thursday at 9 am Pacific.
Here's what's active this week from April 23 to April 30:
- Big Encore boss: Bramblesong, who is found in Bittervein Abandoned Auger Mine in the Stoneblood Forest area of the Terminus Range region. It has the chance of dropping the Convergence legendary shotgun, Boomslang legendary sniper rifle, and Destructo Disco legendary grenade.
- Wildcard Mission: Siege and Destroy with the Vengeful, Ticking, and Tricky modifiers, and a guaranteed drop of the legendary Bully Pistol, an Order brand weapon.
- Maurice's Black Market vending machine: Just west of the Wreck of the Last Great Hope POI. This is in the middle-west area of Tonnage Peel in the Carcadia Burn region. To get to the vending machine quickly, start from The Low Rise fast travel point in Carcadia Burn, then just head west to the Electi Safe marker on the map.
The Bully pistol has the Defense Protocol special effect, meaning when gun shields are activated, it launches an Attack Drone every 14 seconds. Plus, it always spawns with a Ripper-licensed magazine—so it charges before auto-firing, overriding the Order manufacturer's charge functionality.
Latest Borderlands 4 patch notes

Although we're due a major update, we didn't even get a minor update this week, as there are no Borderlands 4 patch notes for the week of April 23 - April 30. Seems Gearbox has sneakily got away with its promise of one major update after three minor updates, as the past two weeks have been labeled "Weekly Update Notes" instead. I'm on to you Gearbox 🕵️
Last week's Borderlands 4 patch notes

There were no patch notes last week in Borderlands 4 (April 16 - April 23). Come on Gearbox, what am I supposed to write about now? That my favorite character is Tannis? That I don't actually mind Claptrap all that much? That I kinda, sorta, maybe liked the Borderlands movie a little?
*Pokes Gearbox with a stick*
Come on do something! Before I lose even more respect from Borderlands fans.
