RARE PHOTOS: Breaking down the unification church scandal in japan | Rare Historical Photos

ACCESS ASIA © FRANCE 24

Anger is growing in Japan over the state funeral for Shinzo Abe, who was assassinated in July. The former prime minister had links to the Unification Church, a controversial religious organisation based in South Korea. We find out more about the relationship between the sect and Japan's political elite by speaking to Koichi Nakano, a professor of political science. Our reporters also take us to meet a former member of the group in Tokyo.

In the second part of the show we head to Hong Kong, where nightlife is returning after stringent Covid-19 restrictions. But some musicians feel left out in the cold as a ban on live performances in bars and restaurants remains in place.
