British Transport Police have issued an update after a person was hit by a train. The incident happened on Tuesday, April 25, on the East Midlands Railway line between Stoke-on-Trent and Derby.
It was reported by East Midlands Railway (EMR) services at around 6.40pm. A number of Nottingham services were affected by the incident as the line connects Newark and Crewe, stopping at Nottingham.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police stated: "Officers were called to the line in Uttoxeter at 6.16pm yesterday (25 April) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious." Following the incident replacement buses were provided for trains stations between Stoke-on-Trent and Derby and people were advised to use alternative services between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent.
