RARE PHOTOS: Broncos host olb jalyx hunt on pre draft visit - The Real Truth

The Denver Broncos brought in Houston Christian edge defender Jalyx Hunt for a pre-draft visit earlier this month, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Hunt (6-4, 252 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.64 seconds at the NFL combine. His 10-foot, 8-inch broad jump was the best recorded among edge defenders at the combine.

Hunt started his college career as a safety at Cornell in 2019. Cornell did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19, but Hunt returned to play 10 games in 2021.

Hunt then transferred to Houston Christian ahead of the 2022 season and moved to defensive end. He had a breakout year in 2023, winning Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors after totaling 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception returned for a touchdown.

Although he played defensive end from 2022-2023, Hunt would likely transition to outside linebacker if drafted by a team that runs a base 3-4 defense like the Broncos. He’s projected to be a late-round pick.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27. We are tracking all of Denver’s pre-draft prospect visits on Broncos Wire.
