Canada has introduced personalised processing-time estimates for work permit extensions and post-graduation work permits (PGWPs), giving Indian students and workers in the country a clearer estimate of how long their applications may take.
Canada’s immigration department has updated its processing-times webpage to show estimated waiting periods based on the date an application was submitted. Indian applicants in Canada can now select “Temporary residence” and then “Work permit extension in Canada” to see an estimated remaining wait time in weeks. The tool also shows how many applicants are ahead of them and the total number of applications awaiting a decision.
