Leading up to its launch, I got the opportunity to review Capcom’s first new IP in a very long time—Pragmata—and I loved it so much that I immediately started huffing the hopium in anticipation of some sequel announcement. Once the game started selling pretty well, my excitement only grew, and now Capcom basically confirmed that a sequel will probably release at some point.
This is due to Pragmata achieving a staggering 2.5 million in sales, which is quite amazing for a new IP and one that followed not long after Resident Evil Requiem came out and was still doing well across all platforms. It’s a novelty game in every sense of the word, but it’s very clearly inspired by the design philosophies of the late 2000s and early 2010s, where fun and cool mechanics are placed at the top of the list of priorities.
