The chair of Nottingham Castle Trust has today (September 5) stepped down. A spokesperson for the castle confirmed that Professor Ted Cantle CBE is leaving the role following the "successful recruitment of new trustees in July".
As part of the "planned change", fellow trustee Richard Tresidder, former Nottingham Post Business Editor, has also stepped down. Nottingham Castle thanked the pair for their contribution.
The news comes after protesters gathered outside Nottingham Castle earlier last month - almost a year after a reported 'racist incident' at the attraction. A child was reported to have racially abused two other children, then aged seven and 11, in a play area at the Castle on August 17, 2021.
