Chelsea have issued a scathing statement confirming that Enzo Maresca has agreed to pay compensation to his former club.

The Blues did not name Maresca, but did confirm that “our former head coach” and Manchester City have agreed confidential settlements regarding the Argentine’s appointment as Pep Guardiola’s successor, which will see the Blues receive compensation from both parties.
