Tragedy struck in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Friday as a suicide attack at a beach restaurant claimed the lives of at least 32 people and left dozens more injured. The attack, carried out by six members of the Somali militant group al-Shabaab, targeted the Beach View Hotel on Lido Beach.
According to state media reports, the attackers used a suicide bomb to carry out the heinous act. Security forces were able to neutralize five of the attackers, but the fate of the sixth assailant remains unclear at this time.
