NEW DELHI: The national capital Delhi on Monday got its first glimpse into zero-emission future of the city’s public transport, with oil minister Hardeep Singh Puri flagging off the trial run of two hydrogen buses procured by the country’s largest oil refiner and fuel retailer IndianOil Corporation from Tata Motors.
The fleet size will increase to 15 by the end of the year, Puri said at the time of flagging off the buses that will initially ply on national capital region without passengers. In addition to Delhi, routes across Haryana and UP have been identified for running hydrogen buses once the fleet size expands.
