Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are set to speak at an event in Chicago this week, according to sources familiar with the planning. This event will shine a spotlight on two crucial battleground states that Vice President Kamala Harris is closely watching as the fall approaches.
Shapiro and Whitmer are part of a lineup that features the 'next generation' of the Democratic Party. Other notable speakers include House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
