A "desperate and dangerous" bikie associate is believed to have fled NSW in a private jet after cutting off his ankle bracelet and skipping bail.

Police say Mark Horne boarded the plane from Bankstown Airport in Sydney's southwest and flew to an unknown regional destination on Tuesday.

Detectives believe he was headed for Queensland and from there, would attempt to reach Southeast Asia, possibly by sea.
