You may have heard this advice before: “Choose the man who loves you more.” It sounds simple. The idea is that if he is more interested, he will call first, make more effort, care more and be less likely to walk away when things become difficult. Some relationship writers support this idea. One YourTango article, for example, argues that relationships may work better when the man is more invested. Online discussions, including Reddit, also show that some people feel safer when their partner seems more interested than they are. But does research actually say that a man needs to love more for a relationship to work? Not really.
