RARE PHOTOS: Donkey at bus stop returned home after police called - The Real Truth

A donkey was returned home after it was seen at a bus stop and on the central reservation of a major A-road. Police officers who were called to the scene joked little Murphy was considering catching a bus to the seaside to start a new career on the beach.

They were called by a passer-by who spotted him grazing on the central reservation of the A64 near Whitwell, North Yorkshire, before encouraging him to the bus stop. A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said it was one of the more unusual calls the force had received on Friday (July 1).

Officers discovered the donkey had escaped from a field that he shares with a llama and a flock of sheep. Murphy was checked over and taken back to the field by his owner where he settled down for a rest after an eventful morning.
