A maiden One-Day Cup century from Jake Doran has lifted a floundering Tasmania to a competitive total against South Australia at Adelaide Oval.
Aided by a run-a-ball half-century from Beau Webster, the visitors recovered from a rocky start on Friday morning to reach 5-252.
With a previous best of just 36 in a 21-match 50-over career, Doran finished unbeaten on 105.
The part-time wicketkeeper brought up his ton in the penultimate over off 125 balls in a measured knock that included eight boundaries.
There was invaluable assistance from Webster who crashed 65 off 57 balls in a much-needed 117-run stand for the fifth wicket with Doran.
Sent in to bat, Tasmania were immediately on the back foot thanks to Wes Agar and Ben Manenti.
Agar produced a stunning delivery to knock over the middle stump of in-form Ben McDermott for 7.
Fellow opener Caleb Jewell (13) then spooned a simple catch to the infield from left-arm spinner Manenti's first ball as the Tigers slipped to 2-34.
Doran and captain Jordan Silk steadied the ship with a 71-run stand before the latter feathered a Nathan McAndrew delivery to be dismissed for 44.
McAndrew (1-27) kept a lid on the Tigers' run-rate during the middle overs with the medium-pacer returning 1-9 off his first six overs.
