A green-fingered Samaritans Scotland volunteer was delighted to mark the charity’s 70th anniversary at the Chelsea Flower Show – after recently celebrating her own 70th birthday.
Ann Stephenson, branch director at Dumfries Samaritans, was thrilled to discover she had been chosen to attend the world’s most famous flower show as a steward for the charity.
A unique Samaritans Listening Garden was created for this year’s show by award-winning gardener and Samaritans volunteer Darren Hawkes, inspired by stories of those who have found the courage to reach out to the charity for help over the last seven decades.
