UNBELIEVABLE: Dwp shares how long pip payments last and changes to awards awaiting review - Caught on Camera

The Department for Work and Pensions' (DWP) Personal Independent Payment (PIP) is a benefit for anyone over 16 and under the state pension age with a disability, mental health condition or long-term illness.

The latest statistics from DWP have revealed there are now more than three million people in the UK including 322,387 in Scotland who receive financial support between £24,45 to £156.90 per week through the system. This benefit is paid every four weeks so it could be between £97.80 to £627.60 every payment period, reports the Daily Record.

How much PIP you will be paid depends on how difficult it is for you to carry out certain everyday tasks including preparing and eating food, washing and getting dressed, basic toilet needs and moving around. A PIP award can be indefinite but is usually for a fixed period of time. The length of this depends on an assessment of how likely it is that your daily living and mobility needs may change over time.
