A temporary “mini-moon” orbiting the Earth for the last two months drifted away on Tuesday, resuming its journey around the Sun.

The 10m-wide asteroid dubbed 2024 PT5 had been circling the Earth since 29 September in an orbit about 3.2 million km from the planet.
