The Eaton Fire near Altadena, California, continues to rage as high winds complicate firefighting efforts. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone has warned that severe fire weather conditions are expected to persist through tomorrow, with the worst winds predicted for late afternoon today and into Wednesday.
As of now, the Eaton Fire has scorched more than 17,000 acres of land, with only 35% containment achieved so far. The destructive blaze has also taken a toll on over 7,000 structures, leaving many damaged or destroyed.
