BIZARRE: Fantasy premier league tips transfer and captain options ahead of fpl gameweek 14 deadline - You Need To See This

Fantasy Premier League managers are weighing up whether to risk Erling Haaland ahead of gameweek 14.

The Manchester City striker’s availability is officially in doubt - no doubt sending shockwaves through many a player’s mind before the clash with Leicester.

No bother, as Standard Sport is here to deliver our top tips for your transfer and captain picks this weekend - with the FPL deadline at 11am BST on Saturday, October 29.

Ivan Toney - Brentford - £7.5m

Ivan Toney has scored on all three occasions he has played against Wolves, including both Premier League games last season and in a 3-2 win for Northampton while on loan in 2014 (a goal, needless to say, we all remember). Still unable to find a new manager and off the back of a drubbing by Leicester, they are ideal opponents for Toney with the striker on eight for the season. A very reasonable pick for captaincy, if you have Haaland concerns.

Darwin Nunez - Liverpool - £8.8m

Netted again in Liverpool’s Champions League win at Ajax on Wednesday to show why he can oust Roberto Firmino (scoreless in four) at the top of their attack ahead of a clash with struggling Leeds.

Callum Wilson - Newcastle - £7.3m

Miguel Almiron was a Standard Sport pick last week with Kieran Trippier tipped in both GW8 and GW12 so, presuming you’ve been listening to us, if you want a third Newcastle option it is surely Wilson ahead of Aston Villa’s visit. Alexander Isak’s injury gives him a free run to the World Cup and last week’s finish against Tottenham underlined his class in front of goal.

Kepa Arrizabalaga - Chelsea - £4.5m

It is rare you can pick up a top club’s first-choice option for, well, any position at this price. But Kepa’s resurgence has been impeccable and he was a minute away from a fourth league clean sheet in a row last weekend.

Granit Xhaka - Arsenal - £5.5m

Already enjoying his second-best season in front of goal, Xhaka is scoring more regulalry than not with only three of his eight appearances leading to blanks. Mikel Arteta’s front-foot style is bringing out the best of the midfielder’s attacking instincts and Nottingham Forest could be ripe for a trademark dart-into-the-box or long-range screamer.
