The Federal Reserve met this week. On Wednesday afternoon, the central bank issued its policy statement, keeping the federal funds rate unchanged at its current range of 4.25% to 4.5%.

This meeting was highly anticipated as investors were anxious to see what the Federal Reserve had to say about inflation and interest rates, particularly after President Donald Trump implemented tariffs on several countries in recent weeks.
