In a bizarre case, an Italian man named Filippo Bernardini has admitted to stealing over 1,000 unpublished manuscripts majorly written by bestselling international authors, reported the BBC. And some of his targeted authors were literary giants like Ian McEwan and Margaret Atwood!
Bernardini was arrested a year ago, in January 2022, by the FBI for his crime. Recently, he "pleaded guilty in New York to wire fraud", read the BBC report.
