REVEALED: Flame lighting ceremony for winter games forced indoors | Vintage Vibes

Winter Games Greece Jakara Anthony

The countdown to next year's Winter Olympic Games will gather pace when the historic flame is lit in Greece for the start of the torch relay.

Wednesday's choreographed ceremony (20.30 AEST), inspired by ancient Greece, is designed to link the original games to today's global Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, which begin in 72 days' time.

The difference this time is that bad weather means it must take place indoors.
