September Nymex natural gas (NGU23) on Tuesday closed -0.072 (-2.74%).

Nat-gas prices Tuesday posted sharp losses on the outlook for cooler weather to cover two-thirds of the eastern U.S. by next week, curbing nat-gas demand from electricity providers to power air conditioning. Forecaster Atmospheric G2 said below-normal temperatures are expected to cover the eastern half of the U.S. from August 27-31.
