Former Australia football captain Paul Wade has revealed that he has been diagnosed with probable chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), renewing his call for a ban on heading the ball for players under the age of 12.
Wade, who made 84 international appearances for Australia, said on Wednesday that he has been experiencing memory loss and mood swings, which he believes are linked to repeated head injuries sustained during his playing career.
