Frenkie de Jong has liked one of Manchester United 's most recent Instagram posts as speculation continues to rise over where he will be playing his football next season.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Erik ten Hag tries to bolster his midfield ahead of the new season. De Jong is seen as a 'priority' transfer target by those at the top of the United hierarchy and the Red Devils are hoping to get the deal over the line as soon as possible.
There was some optimism that the transfer could be completed before June 30 but the two parties have not been able to agree a fee, although Barcelona need funds in order to buy. They see De Jong as the perfect player to offload to raise cash for signing targets such as Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.
