NEW DELHI: Coco Gauff, the American sixth seed, overcame a shaky start to kick off her French Open campaign with a hard-fought 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory against Spain's Rebeka Masarova in Paris. Despite her initial struggles, Gauff regained her composure and found her rhythm to secure the win.
In the early stages, Gauff's forehand caused her significant trouble, resulting in a number of errors. Masarova, ranked 71st in the world and a former French Open junior champion, capitalised on Gauff's struggles and dominated the opening set, appearing poised for an upset victory.
