EXPLAINED: Generational impact new ceo on board for train manufacturing hub | Rare Historical Photos

New Lake Macquarie City Council chief executive David Hughes has made convincing the NSW government to build its $12 billion train manufacturing hub at Teralba one of his first priorities.

The former Glencore coal mine site in Teralba and the Broadmeadow Locomotive Depot are being considered by the state government for the manufacturing hub that will build NSW's next generation of trains into the 2050s.

David Hughes said he had a strong working relationship with Lake Macquarie mayor Adam Shultz. Picture supplied
