FAQs
Is Gog.com legit?
Yes, GOG.com is entirely legit. In fact its one of the safest and most respected game stores on the internet, right alongside Steam and the Epic Games Store. I personally own well over 100 games on GOG, ranging from Civilisation III to the Witcher, XCOM and Knights of the Old Republic 1+2
In fact, many gamers prefer GOG.com because of its policies. On Steam, you are renting a license. If Steam shuts down or bans your account, you lose your games. Meanwhile, on GOG.com, you own the game files. "DRM-Free" means you can download the offline installer, save it to a hard drive, and install it on any PC you own without needing an internet connection or a launcher to check if you are "allowed" to play.
It was founded and owned by CD Projekt Red, the massive Polish company behind The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
