A HIGHLAND hotel on the NC500 has told customers its restaurant is now closed due to the "continued increase in running costs".
The Old North Inn Hotel, just outside Inverness, posted on social media that the restaurant will close indefinitely Monday, June 29, but the public bar will remain open.
The hotel is at the start of the North Coast 500 driving route and dates back 300 years.
The statement read: “Due to continued increase in running costs over the past few years, the difficult decision has been made to close the restaurant at The Old North Inn.
“The restaurant will be closed from Monday June 29 for the foreseeable future.
“The public bar will be open as usual."
Director of the hotel Andrew Wylie continued the statement, thanking customers for their continued support at the restaurant.
He added: “I would like to thank all of you who have supported the restaurant over the years by dining here with us.
“I would also like to thank the front of house staff and kitchen staff for their dedication and all their hard work.”
The announcement comes just one month after the restaurant launched a new menu, and requested customers book ahead of time.
Their website states: "Our restaurant is a popular dining spot for locals and travellers alike, offering a wide selection of Scottish cuisine. On Sundays, we feature a traditional Sunday lunch with all the trimmings."
The venue further markets itself as "the perfect base for exploring the North Coast 500, Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield and Urquhart Castle".
