Holidaymakers at Cardiff Airport were devastated when travel agency TUI scrapped an entire holiday package to Tenerife after they had already boarded the plane and were waiting for take-off. These included Huw Davies, who had planned a "last family holiday" for his daughter who has terminal cancer.
Passengers said that the flight, which was due to depart at 1.25pm, was delayed by an hour. They then boarded the plane and had to wait another hour because it had a malfunctioning part, they were told.
But just as this was being repaired, they were notified by the holiday giant via text message and email that their entire holiday was cancelled due to "operational and supply chain issues" in combination with the number of people going on holiday at this time of year, reports Wales Online.
