The House secretary-general has defended a proposed budget allocation for official vehicles following criticism from an opposition MP, saying the plan complies with regulations and the vehicles are nearing their replacement eligibility dates.
Siroj Phaetphun, secretary-general of the House of Representatives, said the House speaker's official vehicle was purchased on Jan 4, 2018, and will reach the six-year replacement threshold under Prime Minister's Office regulations in January next year.
