A difficult run with injuries in Matt Rowell's first two seasons helped the Gold Coast star transform into a Brownlow medallist.

The former No.1 pick became the Suns' second Brownlow winner, after the great Gary Ablett Jnr in 2013, when he upset Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos to collect the AFL's highest individual honour on Monday night.
