If you’re unable to launch or play VALORANT due to the error code 40, don’t panic—you aren’t alone. With multiple player reports mentioning this issue since the tac shooter’s launch, the good news is that you’ve come to the right place to know how to fix it.
Being an online game, VALORANT is quite prone to errors caused by both client and server-sided triggers. The chances of encountering such issues are higher during or around an update’s release, when Riot is tinkering with the server or the player traffic is heavy. Some errors, like code 40, are rarer, and may appear randomly due to subtle hiccups, but there’s nothing to worry about.
