CHENNAI: It’s an unwritten rule that if there’s a player of some pedigree whose IPL career is fledgling, there’s no better team to go to than Chennai Super Kings. After the likes of Shane Watson, Harbhajan Singh, Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu and Ajinkya Rahane in recent years, it’s the turn of Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman.
A success in IPL in 2016 for SRH, Mustafizur had never been able to reignite the same magic over the years. But once picked up by CSK this year, more as a cover for Sri Lankan slinger Matheesha Pathirana, the 29-year-old medium-pacer brought all his experience to set up a six-wicket victory for his new franchise in the opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday.
