Director James Cameron has big plans for the future of the Avatar franchise. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the 51st annual Saturn Awards, Cameron revealed that he already has ideas for the sixth and seventh films in the series, even though Avatar 3 has yet to hit theaters.
Cameron expressed his enthusiasm for the project, mentioning that they are fully written through movie five, with plans for the subsequent installments. However, he acknowledged that he might pass the baton to someone else at that point, citing the inevitability of mortality. Nonetheless, he remains committed to the franchise and the opportunity to work with talented individuals.
