The police officer son of former NSW premier and ex-senator Kristina Keneally has been charged with fabricating false evidence following an investigation by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.

The LECC issued a statement on Tuesday acknowledging there had "been considerable discussion in the media" regarding an investigation it had conducted into Constable Daniel Keneally.
