King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort, are set to visit Wales on Friday, it's been confirmed. The Royals will attend a ceremony in Wrexham to celebrate the former town being awarded "city status" earlier this year.
The ceremony will take place at St Giles Church in the city, as reported by our sister site NorthWalesLive, and the Royal couple will arrive via the High Street Gates. There, they will be met by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Clwyd, Mr Lloyd Fitzhugh and welcomed to the church by the Wardens of St Giles.
Rev Jason Bray will lead a short service in the church and King Charles will make a short speech, before he and Queen Consort Camilla will be invited to see significant items owned and cared for by the church, including a First Edition King James Bible and a rare early-14th century chalice, still in use today. During their visit, the Royals are also scheduled to meet church representatives and members of local community groups. For more stories about the Royal Family, go here
