A number of knives were "secreted" and abandoned in the undergrowth in a popular Nottinghamshire park. Nottinghamshire Police has issued a warning to the public after making the discovery in the Broxtowe Country Park on Wednesday, May 17.
The force shared images from their operation, alongside a message that reads: "Officers completed a knife sweep of Broxtowe Country Park yesterday [May 17] discovering a number of knives secreted and disposed of in the undergrowth. If you find a knife please ring 101 and let your local police know."
It is part of Nottinghamshire Police's Op Centre week of action, when officers are showing the work being done to reduce knife crime. The force also have stepped up the school visits across the county to "help ensure this message really hits home".
