Lewis Capaldi opened up about his new relationship with girlfriend Ellie MacDowall for the first time as he confessed he is a 'happy chappy'.

The singer, 26, has kept his blossoming romance out of the spotlight after the couple were spotted cosying up at the Brit Awards afterparty together back in February.

And now the Scottish hitmaker - who recently released a candid Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now exploring fame and mental health - gave a rare insight into his new relationship as he spoke to Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills.
