Lloyds Bank has confirmed it will close its Beeston branch later this year. The company cited a decreased number of visitors to the bank as the reason for the move. The bank, off Foster Avenue, will close on May 11.
The announcement of the Lloyds closure means that it is the third bank in less than a year to announce that it will shut its doors in the area. Barclays closed its branch in Chilwell Road in September last year, with this closure described as a "big blow" by shoppers.
The NatWest bank in High Road is also set for closure next week (January 25). Its closure has been labelled a 'shame' by shoppers who have been left to ponder the future of the 'lovely' building.
