RARE PHOTOS: M s shoppers go wild for delicious new easter treat but have one complaint - The Real Truth

If there is one thing about Easter that we all love, it is the opportunity to tuck into some of our favourite sweets and treats without feeling a shred of guilt.

Of course, many of us usually associate this time of year with chocolate eggs, but there is one other treat that we think deserves equal attention - the hot cross bun.

Luckily, so does Marks and Spencer, as the UK retailer has sent shoppers on social media into a frenzy with the launch of the brand new Banoffee Hot Cross Buns that offer a unique twist on the traditional delicacy. However, some weren't happy to see other flavours missing on the shelves.

The Banoffee Hot Cross Buns are currently priced at just £2 on Ocado, while M&S has said that they are included in its offer where you can purchase two packs of any hot cross buns for just £3.

Sharing its delightful new Easter treat to Facebook, M&S wrote: "Hot cross buns x banoffee pie = the crossover you never knew you needed.

"Our ALL-NEW banoffee hot cross buns are filled with salted caramel fudge pieces and banana purée – perfect on their own or toasted with butter.

"Plus, you can now get two packs of any of our hot cross buns for just £3."

Hundreds of shoppers were quickly sent salivating over the eccentric new flavour, with one shopper saying: "These are absolutely delicious."

A second raved: "They are delicious! Both toasted and un toasted ! X."

While a third added: "Had them with my Ocado shop yesterday.. they are amazing."

A fourth exclaimed: "The banoffee hot cross buns are so delicious , I have ordered more more, more."

However, as excited as most fans were, there were quite a few others who were left miffed that their favourite flavour had not made the lineup this year - namely the controversial Marmite flavour.

One shopper fumed: "Cannot find the Marmote/Cheese version in either of my local M&S … sad times."

While asked: "Where are the marmite ones ??."

A third wrote: "Wish you were doing the marmite ones!"
